Demba's Voyage

Story by Martina Martinović

Illustrated by Martina Martinović

  • Here are Mbaye and Demba. They are meeting in the street, and Demba has a suitcase. “Hello Demba. Are you going on a trip?” “Yes, Mbaye. I am going to Paris to visit my brother.”
  • I will take the bus to the airport. The flight leaves at 10pm, and we arrive the next morning.
  • My brother is meeting me at the airport. We are going to take the train to go to his house.
  • The first day, I will meet his friends. We are going to make yassa poulet and chat the whole day.
  • I will be very tired after the trip and fall asleep soon.
  • The day after, I will get up early. We are going to eat croissants for breakfast.
  • After breakfast, we’ll explore the city. My brother will show me all the important places in the city.
  • Since I will take a lot of photos, I’ll take my cell phone when we go out.
  • We’re going to visit the Eiffel Tower.
  • We’re going to visit Notre Dame.
  • We’re going to visit the Louvre.
  • When we go to the Eiffel Tower, I will take a lot of photos at the top.
  • In the afternoon, we are going to have a picnic on the banks of the Seine.
  • We are going to do a lot of things when I visit. I can’t wait!
